Saw a bunch of family yesterday- shout out to the Geraghty/Ganey gang!- and it turns out there is an actual audience for these posts, and a particular demand to see what is going on in the garden. Since that is where the bulk of our house-related energy is going at the moment, it does make sense to share. Here are some of the standouts- already fading as others work themselves up to a bloom:

I did not capture an image of my new-ish roses, bending to the ground under the weight of frilly abundant blooms, but I did get out there to pull them in and make some bouquets out of them.

I should have documented the absolute mess the crows and moles made of our little lawn this winter, and the micro-clover solution I am trying. No photos of the diseased dahlias I just ripped out this week, or the weirdly unhappy blueberry plants, the yellowing rhododendron. There is always something to furrow the brow, but this is the season of absolute delight, abundant growth and breathless expectation – will it work this year? Will spring pop off? Yes, yes, so much yes.
